Maggie's Catsitting Service

Term and Conditions

General

  • All clients will be deemed to have accepted Maggie's Catsitting Services' terms and conditions (as laid out here) on signature of the booking form.

  • Maggie's Catsitting Service (MCS) will not confirm a booking until a consultation has been carried out with the client. Third party bookings will not be accepted. It must be with the home/pet owner.

  • Full payment for services (agreed either at time of booking or subsequently) is to be made within 7 days of receipt of invoice via cash or cheque. (Delayed payment will result in an extra charge)

  • Client must provide all food and any other necessary items for their pet(s) (food, treats, medication, cat litter etc) to ensure that the pet(s) can be adequately cared for in the client's absence. Any additional supplies purchased by MCS will be added to the bill.

  • Client must provide MCS with a name and contact number of someone capable of making any decisions relating to their pet(s) in an emergency. If this is not made available then MCS reserves the right to consult with a vet and then make a decision which is in the best interest of the animal.

  • Client is responsible for any vet bills, no matter how they are incurred, whilst pet(s) are in the care of MCS.

  • MCS reserve the right to deny service or terminate service because of safety concerns, financial concerns or inappropriate or uncomfortable conditions.

  • Client must inform MCS of any behaviour problems that their pets have at time of booking. Failure to do so may result in additional charges or cancellation of any future contract.

  • Although MCS is insured for Public Liabilty (£1,000,000), wherever possible pets should be insured by the client. MCS reserves the right to refuse a booking for any animal which is not insured.

  • MCS hold animal, client and personal safety as a top priority and honour confidentiality for all parties involved.

  • MCS will care for your pet(s) as you would, and whilst you are away will make every effort to ensure your pet(s) are well looked after in your absence, MCS cannot be held liable for any loss , injury or death to your pet(s) either inside or outside of the home whilst in our care, unless we can be shown to be negligent.

  • If cats are allowed free access to the outside of the house, by means of a cat flap or similar device, then the sitter does not have control over the cat. No responsibilty can therefore be accepted by MCS or the sitter for any accident that happens to, or is caused by the cat, during such times.

  • MCS reserves the right to either a) impose supplementary charges and /or b) terminate this agreement immediately without any liability on our part if a) there is material change in nature of the assignment which could not been reasonably foreseen by either party or b) the assignment does not match the clients original description and necessitates more time and responsibilities on the part of MCS.


Cat Sitting

  • All Bookings are subject to a 50% deposit (non-refundable) payable at time of consultation.

  • Cancellations must be made more than 24 hours in advance or full rate for cancelled period will be charged.

  • MCS will check home security, water indoor plants and take in post as part of our regular home/cat care service.

  • Client must phone Maggie's Catsitting Service as soon as they return home. Maggie's Catsitting Service will continue to visit property and care for their cat(s) until client has confirmed that the cat(s) are back in their care.

  • Client should notify their neighbours and their home insurance company that MCS will be visiting the property in the clients absence.

  • Clients should also notify their vet that MCS is caring for their cat(s) in the clients absence.

  • Keys - a set of the clients keys must be made available at time of consultation, these will be kept in a secure place and coded for added security for the duration of the contract.

  • MCS will not care for acutely ill cats or those with uncontrolled medical conditions such as epilepsy.


House Sitting

  • Maggie's Catsitting Service will not normally accept shared responsibility with a second party for home/pet care. Visitors will not be allowed access to the home unless specific permission has been given by the client.

  • MCS will check home security, water plants,put out rubbish and take in post as part of our regular home/cat care service. Other matters may be attended to by agreement but may incur an extra charge.

  • Under normal circumstances between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00 your home sitter will not be away from your property for any more than 3 hours maximum and one hour maximum between 20:00 and 08:00.

  • Clients are advised to inform their insurance company that they are employing the services of a house/cat sitter.
